  6. (formerly Sybergen SyGate for Home Office). This 
  7. document contains important information that you may 
  8. find useful for installing and using SYGATE Home 
  9. Network. For additional instructions on installing 
  10. and using SYGATE, please refer to the SYGATE Home
  11. Network User Guide. You can also quickly find the help 
  12. menu within the SYGATE Home Network application.

  50. It is recommended that you close any other services or applications
  51. that may be using your network or modem drivers prior to installing
  52. SYGATE Home Network 4.0.

  54. For Windows 95 Users:

  56. It is recommended that you have Microsoft DUN (Dial Up Networking) 
  57. 1.3, Winsock 2.0, and Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 (or later) 
  58. installed on your computer.  If you currently do not have this
  59. installed, it is recommended that you download this software at:
  60. http://www.microsoft.com/windows95.

  62. IMPORTANT: For ISDN via Ethernet, DSL, cable modem, and DirecPC,
  63. you need to verify that these devices can connect to your computer
  64. through Ethernet.

  100. * SYGATE will not detect an invalid gateway IP on the server.

  102. * SYGATE DNS forward will not function with AOL or dial-up if
  103.   you have an invalid DNS IP.

  105. * If you are currently using a free ISP, you must manually
  106.   connect to the internet.  Dial on Demand may not function
  107.   properly.

  109. * In Windows 2000, users must manually add dial-up entries
  110.   (including username and password) after installation.
  111.  
  112. * Using AOL, users must have their password saved in AOL 
  113.   through preference.
  114.  
  115. * If you are using SYGATE Home Network 4.0 and running Windows 98 
  116.   First Edition with Internet Explorer 5.0, SYGATE may not see the 
  117.   network cards of the computer.  This issue is Microsoft bug Q234573
  118.   and is not a SYGATE related problem.  This problem can be resolved 
  119.   by by upgrading to Internet Explorer 5.0 Service Pack 1 or 
  120.   re-installing the TCP/IP stack and replacing all files.

  122. * While using WinPoet 1.4 and Windows NT 4.0 the client computers
  123.   will time out after several minutes.  This can be resolved by 
  124.   upgrading to WinPoet 2.0.

  126. * NTS must be manually dialed unless Dial-on-Demand has been 
  127.   enabled in NTS.

  136. this software, our website will automatically generate a serial
  137. number and registration key for your continued usage. After 
  138. receiving this information, you can enter it into the registration
  139. screen (available in the Help menu from the SYGATE Home Network
  140. manager).

  155. * In Windows 95A, auto-dial may not work properly with AOL.

  157. * If you are using SYGATE Home Network 4.0 and running Windows 98

  171. * SYGATE service will not start if you have one network adaptor with
  172.   a gateway and you attempt a dial-up connection.
  173.  
  174. * If more that one network adaptor is installed, and each network 
  175.   adaptor has a gateway, the SYGATE service will not start.  To resolve 
  176.   this conflict, remove the gateway on the interal network adaptor.
