- document contains important information that you may
- find useful for installing and using SYGATE Home
- Network. For additional instructions on installing

- * Intel 486 or higher for analog or ISDN modem sharing,
- or 586 or higher for DSL or cable modem sharing

- It is recommended that you close any other services or applications
- that may be using your network or modem drivers prior to installing
- SYGATE Home Network 4.0.

- For Windows 95 Users:

- It is recommended that you have Microsoft DUN (Dial Up Networking)
- 1.3, Winsock 2.0, and Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 (or later)
- installed on your computer. If you currently do not have this
- installed, it is recommended that you download this software at:
- http://www.microsoft.com/windows95.

- IMPORTANT: For ISDN via Ethernet, DSL, cable modem, and DirecPC,
- you need to verify that these devices can connect to your computer
- through Ethernet.

- * SYGATE will not detect an invalid gateway IP on the server.

- * SYGATE DNS forward will not function with AOL or dial-up if
- you have an invalid DNS IP.

- * If you are currently using a free ISP, you must manually
- connect to the internet. Dial on Demand may not function
- properly.

- * In Windows 2000, users must manually add dial-up entries
- (including username and password) after installation.
-
- * Using AOL, users must have their password saved in AOL
- through preference.
-
- * If you are using SYGATE Home Network 4.0 and running Windows 98
- First Edition with Internet Explorer 5.0, SYGATE may not see the
- network cards of the computer. This issue is Microsoft bug Q234573
- and is not a SYGATE related problem. This problem can be resolved
- by by upgrading to Internet Explorer 5.0 Service Pack 1 or
- re-installing the TCP/IP stack and replacing all files.

- * While using WinPoet 1.4 and Windows NT 4.0 the client computers
- will time out after several minutes. This can be resolved by
- upgrading to WinPoet 2.0.

- * NTS must be manually dialed unless Dial-on-Demand has been
- enabled in NTS.

- You can register this software online at

- this software, our website will automatically generate a serial
- number and registration key for your continued usage. After
- receiving this information, you can enter it into the registration
- screen (available in the Help menu from the SYGATE Home Network
- manager).

- * In Windows 95A, auto-dial may not work properly with AOL.

- * If you are using SYGATE Home Network 4.0 and running Windows 98
- First Edition with Internet Explorer 5.0, SYGATE may not see the
- network cards of the computer. This issue is Microsoft bug Q234573
- and is not a SYGATE related problem. This problem can be resolved

- * In certain instances, logging off the computer will result in
- User.exe closing.

- * SYGATE does not support RRAS, IP Forwarding, and ICS. It
- is recommended that users uninstall this software prior to
- installing SYGATE.

- * SYGATE service will not start if you have one network adaptor with
- a gateway and you attempt a dial-up connection.
-
- * If more that one network adaptor is installed, and each network
- adaptor has a gateway, the SYGATE service will not start. To resolve
- this conflict, remove the gateway on the interal network adaptor.
